Scott Buchanan, Project Manager for Great Northern, and a New England native, joined our team in 2010. Scott is a talented and creative craftsman who takes a great deal of pride in his work. With a degree in Architectural Engineering Technology and a decade of experience in home renovation, he has both the skills and knowledge to handle just about anything that pops up as a project progresses.
Scott enjoys the challenge of creating an aesthetically pleasing and functional space out of raw material. Scott decided he wanted to be a builder after completing a full renovation of his own home. Scott feels that building in Maine is unique because the vast age range of the housing stock, from 1600’s to new construction, requires a builder to accumulate a vast store of knowledge of the many building methods and materials used over a 400+ year period.
One of his favorite GNB projects from this past year was the completion of a 2-story Barn Studio in Eliot, ME. Not only was it rewarding to lead the construction of this beautiful building, but the finished product is truly appreciated by the client. You can see photos and a video testimonial from the clients regarding this unique project on our website: www.greatnorthernbuilders.info
Scott is valued by the Great Northern team not only because of his talents in remodeling and new construction, but because he has excellent communication skills and puts clients at ease while working in their home. Many post-project client surveys come back to us with some form of the phrase “Scott is the best” or “We love Scott” jotted in big, bold print. We certainly agree!
In his down time, Scott hikes, paints, carves and plays with his kids while laughing as much as possible!
